Why Quran Learning Is Hard to Keep Up in Canada
For many Canadian Muslim families, Quran learning means a once-a-week Sunday school or a weekday class at the nearest masjid, which in sprawling suburbs and smaller cities can be a long drive away. Then winter arrives. Snow, ice and early darkness turn every trip into a challenge, and classes are missed for weeks at a time.
Even when children do attend, a weekly group class rarely gives them enough practice. One teacher can’t hear every student read, lessons may be explained in a language your child doesn’t think in, and what was learned on Sunday is half-forgotten by the next weekend. Busy newcomer families, juggling new jobs and shift work, often have no time left for the drive at all.
Darul Islam Quran Academy was built around these problems. Your child learns at home, one-on-one, with a qualified tutor, most of them Huffaz-e-Quran, who explains every lesson in clear English. Choose 2, 3 or 5 classes a week at any time in your own time zone, and follow progress with a Monthly Report Card.

Classes at Any Time, From Newfoundland to BC
Canada spans six time zones, including Newfoundland’s half-hour offset. We don’t work from a fixed timetable or a list of open slots: tell us the days and time you’d like, in your local time, and we’ll assign a tutor for exactly that slot. Mornings, after school, evenings or weekends all work, seven days a week.
Daylight saving and Saskatchewan, handled
When the clocks change in March and November, your class stays at the same local time on your side. We adjust on ours. Families in Saskatchewan, which doesn’t change its clocks, keep their usual time all year too.

No Winter Driving
Snowstorms, icy roads and early darkness never cancel a class. Your child learns at home all year round.
More Than Weekend School
Two to five classes a week build real progress, instead of relearning every Sunday what was forgotten since last week.
One Tutor, Full Attention
Every class is one-on-one, so your child is never one of many voices in a busy hall.
A Qualified Teacher, Even in Small Towns
No qualified Quran teacher nearby? Distance doesn’t matter. Your tutor, most often a Hafiz-e-Quran, is a click away.

Questions Canadian Parents Ask Us
Which Canadian time zones do you teach in?
All of them: Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern, Atlantic and Newfoundland, including Saskatchewan. Tell us your city and we’ll schedule classes in your local time.
Do you cover Newfoundland's half-hour time difference?
Yes. Classes are booked in your local time, so the half-hour offset in Newfoundland is no problem at all.
What happens to my class time when the clocks change?
Nothing changes on your side. Your class stays at the same local time when daylight saving starts in March and ends in November. In Saskatchewan, where clocks don’t change, your time stays the same too.
Can online classes replace or support weekend Islamic school?
Either. Some families switch fully to online classes; others keep weekend school for community and add one-on-one classes during the week for steady progress.
Will classes continue on snow days and during school breaks?
Yes. Online classes don’t depend on roads or weather, so snow days and holidays are a great time for extra practice.
Are lessons explained in English?
Yes. Tutors explain every rule in clear English, so children growing up in Canada understand what they’re reading rather than just repeating sounds.
Are female tutors available?
Yes. Mention it when you book your free trial, and we’ll match your daughter, or you, with a female tutor.
How much do classes cost in Canada?
Plans are CA$45 a month for 2 days a week, CA$65 for 3 days and CA$90 for 5 days, with 30-minute one-on-one classes. Your first class is free.
