Why Quran Learning Can Still Be Hard in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is full of blessings for Quran learners: masjid halaqat in almost every neighbourhood, and the recitation of the Haramain on every screen. Yet many expat parents find their children aren’t progressing as they’d hoped. Halaqat are taught in Arabic and in groups, often at fixed times after Asr or Maghrib, so a child who doesn’t follow the language, or needs extra help, can quietly fall behind.
Getting there is another challenge. Riyadh and Jeddah are large, busy cities, summer temperatures are extreme, and many families live far from a centre with teachers who speak their language. Parents of daughters often want a female teacher, which can be hard to find nearby. And when the family travels home for the summer, regular study usually stops.
Darul Islam Quran Academy fills these gaps. Your child learns at home, one-on-one, with a qualified tutor, most of them Huffaz-e-Quran, who explains every lesson in Urdu or English, with female tutors available for girls. You choose the days and times, and a Monthly Report Card shows exactly how your child is progressing.

Classes That Fit the Saudi Week and Prayer Times
Families in Saudi Arabia plan their day around school, work and the five prayers, with the working week running Sunday to Thursday. We don’t use a fixed timetable or a list of open slots: tell us the days and times you’d like, in Saudi time, and we’ll assign a tutor for exactly that slot. Saudi Arabia doesn’t change its clocks, so your class time stays the same all year.
Ramadan, Hajj season and summer travel
When routines change in Ramadan, during Hajj season in Makkah and Madinah, or when you travel home for the summer holidays, just tell us. We’ll move your class to a new time, or to your local time abroad, with the same tutor.
Popular times with Saudi families
- After school, once lunch and rest are done

Questions Parents in Saudi Arabia Ask Us
How is this different from a masjid halaqa?
Halaqat are a great blessing, and many families keep them. Our classes are one-on-one and explained in Urdu or English, so your child gets personal correction and moves at their own pace. Many students do both.
Do you have female tutors for girls?
Yes. Female tutors teach girls and women. Just choose your preference on the form when you book your free trial.
Which days do families in Saudi Arabia usually choose?
Many book Sunday to Thursday after school, often between Asr and Maghrib, and add Friday or Saturday mornings for extra practice.
Will the class time change during the year?
Saudi Arabia doesn’t use daylight saving, so your class stays at the same Saudi time all year. We only move it when you ask, for example in Ramadan.
We live in Makkah. Can classes work around Hajj season?
Yes. Families in Makkah and Madinah often change their routine during Hajj and Ramadan. Tell us, and we’ll adjust your class times.
Can my child continue while we're on holiday abroad?
Yes. Keep the same tutor in Pakistan, India or anywhere else, and we’ll match the class to your local time there.
What do we need to join a class?
A laptop, tablet or phone with a stable internet connection. Headphones help younger children focus, especially in busy family homes.
How much do classes cost in Saudi Arabia?
Plans are SAR 100 a month for 2 days a week, SAR 140 for 3 days and SAR 200 for 5 days, with 30-minute one-on-one classes. Your first class is free.
